Dear family and friends of Level10 Church,
I’m sure it could be said by many that one of the first signs of madness is when a person chuckles to themselves for no apparent reason. Well, I’m chuckling to myself because of the realisation of what I often unconsciously do when I’m trying to focus my thinking and trying to concentrate on a specific issue, especially when my head is full and totally crowded!
The truth is my thoughts go to the game of cricket!
I see myself as a bowler running to the crease and releasing the ball at pace. The ball then bounces near off stump then breaks in between the batsman’s bat and pads striking middle stumps and shattering both the stumps and bales asunder! What a satisfying achievement!
On some occasions, I’m the batsman poised and with my eyes focused on the ball as it thunders towards me at lightning pace only for me to strike the ball right in the middle of the bat and I gleefully watch as the ball soars sky high – a perfect six – as it flies over the stand and out of the ground. How satisfying! How fulfilling!
This is utterly true! It puts my mind in a positive place – a place of achievement!
Please don’t think this is from the school of positive thinking or psychology. Not at all! But it is good for my ego! However Romans 12 v 3 brings me back to earth:
“Stop imitating the ideals and opinions of the culture around you, but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think.” The Passion Translation
Friends, in these turbulent, unsettling times, this new lockdown era of uncertainty, let’s NEVER pull up the stumps and give up. May our focus, as His people, be on being achievers, performing successfully and being ‘on the ball’.
Let’s be focussed on the victory we have achieved already by our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
We have a message to tell.
We are indeed more than conquerors through Him who loves us:
“Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8 v 37-39
Let’s all be involved as Level10 family members by endeavouring to be at Tuesday’s Zoom ‘Hour of Power’ prayer time.
Let’s be part of our new initiative 3/10cc prayer groups (3 people praying for 10 minutes for our church and community).
Let’s be missional, desiring, and knowing the presence of the Holy Spirit in a new exciting, refreshing way.
Let’s enjoy the promise of the fullness of joy in every aspect of our lives.
Let’s be on the field of play.
Let’s be a blessing to people!
Let’s be bowled over, full of enthusiasm, focussed.
Let’s be hitting the mark.
Let’s cross every boundary.
Let’s run well.
Let’s declare His great love for all people.
Let’s achieve great things together.
Much love in Jesus!
