Isaiah 43:18-19
“Do not remember the former things,
Nor consider the things of old.
Behold, I will do a new thing,
Now it shall spring forth;
Shall you not know it?
I will even make a road in the wilderness
And rivers in the desert…”
I believe we are moving ahead in an exciting time in the church’s life. Different people have spoken prophetically the above scripture in the past over the church. God asks us to do two things, first forget our past, i.e. to forget our past failures, disappointments, regrets, hurts, and second, to look forward trusting God for our destiny. Even as we do these two things, God will do a new thing. It will be exciting to see what is that new thing God will do amongst us.
Probably you may have gone through a wilderness experience in your life. The wilderness is a place where a person can get lost and vulnerable to the attacks from the wild animals. God promises us, ‘I will even make a road in the wilderness…’ He will make a path for us to walk in to our destiny. You may have also gone through a spiritual dry period in your life, but God promises us ‘rivers in the desert…’ I’m expecting an outpouring of God’s presence in our midst.
I’m expecting that this outpouring will not only affect us for good, but it will spread like a wildfire in this nation and nations of the world. Winchester was the past capital of England and I’m believing that it will become the capital of God’s glory and His kingdom for this nation. It may sound like a big dream, but with our God, nothing is impossible, so let us learn to dream big for God’s kingdom.
We all have a part to play in it, so let us work together for His kingdom and His glory.
Amen.
