FOR YOU! this cross is set up high
For all in Stanmore to see as they pass by.
This cross, the central part of the Easter story,
Is about Jesus, God’s Son, it’s about crucifixion, pain and glory.
It’s about God’s great love for us in sacrificing His Son
It’s about forgiveness and victory, reconciliation that’s what He’s done.
Jesus’ death paid our debt! Jesus conquered sin, death and the grave
To the whosoever He calls with a promise to save.
Many have mocked and scoffed and walked away
Disregarding the truth of what the scriptures say.
Yet as I look to an empty cross, believing He has risen for me,
I’m free of shame and guilt, for He has set me free.
I am no longer bound by sin or fearing hell’s dread
He has given me eternal life, because He rose from the dead.
To those who accept Him their lives are made anew
The joy of His presence is His promise FOR YOU!
