Hi Level10 family & friends

Writing my letter to you this week I did not want to be seen as uncaring and lacking compassion but I confess I am finding the media coverage of the covid pandemic very repetitive, intense and negative.

It is very evident to me that the virus is controlling the government and the government is unable to control the virus hence uncertainty and confusion but regardless of how much we shout and yell it still leaves us in TIERS!

Searching alternative television channels I have found and enjoyed the episodes of “Saving Lives at Sea”.  The programme records the heroic endeavours of the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) men and women who are prepared to go out into the storm raging seas to rescue and save lives.  They are dedicated to the purpose and regularly snatch people from death and disaster, they are people who are willing to risk, and even possibly lay down, their own lives to save others.

They, along with NHS doctors, nurses and carers, are to be honoured and applauded.  Truly they can be described as saviours, their successes bringing them a sense of joy and satisfaction.

As this covid storm continues to rage unrestrained, unrelenting causing death, economic havoc, huge mental health and emotional instability and despair, we desperately need a Saviour to come to our rescue!

“Where is God in all this?”  I’m sure many are saying.  Perhaps blaming Him for not stepping into the situation or even denying His existence may be a simpler option!  I believe God’s greatest desire is to save because of His great love for us all.

The story of Jonah and whale is far more than a children’s story or a fable.  Jesus spoke of Jonah. Jonah was called by God for a special purpose but Jonah refused and was disobedient and rebellious. He did not want to get involved so he fled! He wanted to escape and run far away! I would suggest this is very much like our own selfish human nature. Jonah had to experience a horrendous storm in a boat, then thrown overboard only to spend 3 days in a whale before he came to his senses and yielded to God’s will.

I truly believe in these extremely difficult days God wants us to listen, reflect and realise He is the only solution!

“For this is how much God loved the world—He gave His one and only, unique Son as a gift.
So now everyone who believes in Him will never perish but experience everlasting life.”
John 3 v 16 (The Passion Translation)

Jesus is the only Saviour of the World – there is no other!

The consequence of eternal life without Him is dreadful, beyond our comprehension, but hell is reality – heaven and hell is serious friends!

Also beyond our comprehension is what Jesus faced spiritually and physically, the conflict and the agony He endured for the human race, becoming our substitute, paying our debt, conquering sin and death.  The good news is He rose alive from death totally victorious over the grave and hell.

How essential it is that we yield and ask forgiveness, inviting Jesus into our lives and circumstances because only then will our inner storms cease and peace will dwell in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.  He has promised us this!

May God bless and encourage us all!

Much love in Jesus
